Students wearing lanyards

Wearing your College lanyard
Wearing a college lanyard is compulsory at all times when you are on the college campus.

Your lanyard is used to access certain services such as food in the dining room, loaning out library books, accessing areas of the college and most importantly, wearing a lanyard helps us ensure we can identify those who have a right to be on campus and around our students.

Your lanyard will be issued to you once you have signed your Learners Agreement which your Programme Manager will do with you as part of your induction.

Enrichment

In addition to your studies, we believe passionately in providing you with opportunities for you to get involved in extracurricular activities while you’re at College.

This could be to;

  • Try something new
  • Play a sport – keep fit
  • Join a support group or society
  • Meet new friends
  • Volunteer and make a difference
The enrichment schedule will see dedicated timetabled slots on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays filled with a mixture of clubs, societies, activities, workshops, sports, guest speakers and much more.

Remember to make the most out of every second at college!

Being at college will allow you to step into independence and begin making your own choices and decisions, taking charge of your actions to build a bright and successful future. 🌟

Plumpton College is a professional workplace where three things matter most: respect, independence, and dedication.

On your course, aim to be the best version of yourself. Your success here will depend on:

  • Showing up – attendance matters.
  • Getting involved – contribute to lessons and practical assignments.
  • Meeting deadlines – stay on top of your assessments.
  • Being prepared – have the right equipment for practical lessons.
  • Staying curious – ask questions and deepen your understanding.
  • Chasing your dreams – know your goals and work towards them.
  • Reflecting and growing – continuously build on what you know.
  • Stand out! Whether you're aiming for higher education, an apprenticeship, or jumping straight into the workforce, be the best candidate you can be.

Outside of your studies – make the most of all the enrichment opportunities to;

  • Develop different interests
  • Meet like-minded people
  • Learn new skills
  • Build self-confidence
  • Volunteer to make a difference to others
  • Keep fit, both mentally and physically

For many students, we are your first experience of college life which can feel really daunting. We hope you are excited about the possibilities that the next couple of years can bring you, and if you’re ready for the challenge, we’re here to support you every step of the way!

We can’t wait to welcome you to College in September to start this exciting new journey together.
